Andrew Evans-Fisher

My name is Andrew Evans-Fisher, and I play as a right back and sometimes in midfield. I received a kidney transplant in November 2022. From a young age, even while dealing with health challenges, football has always been a big part of my life. When I heard about the England Transplant Football Team’s success at the Transplant World Cup, I was instantly inspired and knew I wanted to be part of something like that. Through the transplant sport community, I met some incredible people who introduced me to the Birmingham Transplant Football Club, and from the very beginning, I felt welcomed and excited to get involved.

Since joining the team, one of the things I’ve been most proud of is contributing on the pitch, especially with the assists I’ve provided in the few matches I’ve played so far. But beyond the games, the real highlight has been meeting the amazing people involved in transplant football. The sense of community and support has been incredible, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of it all.

Looking ahead, my biggest goal is clear. I want to play for the England Transplant Football Team. Representing my country in something I’m so passionate about would be an incredible honour and a dream come true. I’m focused on improving my game and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way in transplant football.

To anyone thinking about giving transplant sport a try, I would 100 percent encourage you to go for it. Don’t let your health hold you back. There’s a whole world of people out there who understand what you’ve been through and who will welcome you with open arms. You’ll meet like-minded individuals, make lasting friendships, and enjoy being part of something truly special.
