Mel Bolding

I had a liver transplant in 2022. My first experience in transplant football was a baptism of fire, playing a charity match against the Blues All Stars in 2024. It was a tough start, but as the saying goes, onwards and upwards.

A major highlight for me was winning the gold medal at the football tournament during the 2024 British Transplant Games in Nottingham. That moment stands out as a proud achievement.

Another highlight has been meeting incredible people along the way, each with their own unique story. The connections I’ve made through transplant football have been truly meaningful.

I would like to highlight organ donation within all ethnic minority groups. To anyone interested in getting involved, I’d say just go for it, but make sure to listen to your body and rest when you need to.
